Reconciling historical pipeline

When several CRM exports cover the same month, adding up the rows can overstate pipeline. This example shows how I would check which opportunities belong in the count.

I reconciled opportunities across historical CRM datasets, traced a material reporting variance, and established recurring month-end validation checks.

How I would check the count

  1. Freeze dated exports
  2. Match stable opportunity IDs
  3. Apply cohort rules

    The month-end check

    At month-end, save the source exports and keep a list of the records that explain any difference. In this example, repeated copies of an opportunity agree on whether it belongs in the reporting period.
