Reviewing pipeline health

A fictional sales team has $180,000 in open pipeline against a $120,000 quarterly target. The weekly review checks how much of that pipeline has current evidence behind it.

My role

I updated pipeline reporting to use weighted deal values, contributed to dashboards and board reporting, and investigated how to surface stalled deals. The checks below use example thresholds.

What I would check before the forecast call

  1. Review open deals
  2. Check deal evidence
  3. Calculate coverage
  4. Assign follow-ups

A deal passes when it has activity within 14 days, no unresolved close-date slip, and a recorded next step. Passing coverage measures deal hygiene. Forecast probability would require additional evidence.
